Stroke Awareness

On the 15th April 2014, The Tema-West District AMO organized a program for all church members on the theme: Risk factors of stroke. The program was held at the Sakumono Estates S.D.A Church at 7:00pm. Some of the topics that were discussed includes:

  • Stroke risk factors that you cannot control
  • Medical Stroke risk factors
  • Diabetes and Stroke
  • Lifestyle stroke risk factors that you can control
  • What causes High blood pressure
  • Alcohol and etc.

Exercise helps reduce blood pressure by making the Heart stronger. And the stronger the heart, the less effort it takes to pump blood around the body-so the lower the blood pressure. Physical activity also can help decrease the risk of developing diabetes and control cholesterol levels, both of which up your chances of stroke.
